As armies clashed on the slopes of Mount Doom, King Elendil stood against the might of Mordor, his mighty sword Narsil cutting a swathe through the bloody tide of Orcs that hurled themselves at him, crashing and falling away like waves upon a blade of stone.

Yet there was one enemy greater than all others, against whom none could stand. Raising his eyes above the melee, Elendil beheld the Dark Lord Sauron; a great, black-armoured figure, mace in hand, advancing upon him.

So long as the One Ring burned with fiery intensity upon his armoured finger the Lord of the black land was inexorable. No blade could pierce his armour, no shield withstand his strike. Every sweep of his huge, jagged mace sent men flying, and the courage of Elendil’s bravest warriors faltered.

As his men shrank before the advance of this foe, Elendil alone strode forth to raise his blade against the towering black figure. Should the Alliance fall, Middle-earth would be forever lost. The son of Númenor must prevail, lest darkness reign in perpetuity. With teeth gritted, pale eyes glinting with the light of hope, and purpose like polished steel, Elendil swung his great sword Narsil…

FEATURES:

  • 1:6 scale;
  • Limited Edition;
  • Depicts King Elendil as he appears in the Battle of the Last Alliance;
  • Digitally sculpted by Fabio Paiva with reference from the original movie costume;
  • Designed to be displayed with companion piece Sauron™, Lord of the Rings.

I faced numerous difficulties with Elendil's sculpture in terms of details and overall feeling, especially considering that it will coexist with Sauron. Working on Sauron first gave me the assurance that I could accomplish the same for Elendil, and I believe both pieces now demonstrate the incredible work that everyone put into them.

    Great piece from Weta once again, and a surprise a that - I was not expecting to see Elendil rendered in 1:6th style, but I am so glad that he was made! Absolutely stunning piece and another of my favorites to display!

    I am so shocked how lifelike and amazing the eyes and face are. Maybe cause the lovely sculpted helm takes up a lot of space but it all looks so flawless and superb

    Elendil I am sure is for the majority of people that enjoy Peter Jackson's two fantastic trilogies a very very minor and obscure character. He shows up for just a few seconds on screen in the prologue in Fellowship being swatted away by Sauron and is from then only referenced when someone draws their sword. For those who have read not just the Lord of The Rings but delved further into professor Tolkiens material like the monumental Silmarillion he looms rather large at the end of the second age. Just like this seemingly simple 1:6 scale statue. It is one of those rare occasions where pose, sculpting, paintjob, production process and materials, choices and quality of all those factors come together and hit a home run.

    I have been collecting and following the scene since the first sideshow/weta pieces came out with the first trilogy over twenty years ago and my opinion is that this at a first glance plainly posed obscure minor character is so far the best sixth scale release from Weta. Ever.

    I honestly do not know where to start, everything about this seemingly minor side character In a simple pose with a simple base is executed near perfection.

    No sloppy paintjob, no bent or out of place detail save the pommel of his sword slightly misaligned with the blade itself when inserted into his hands, but you will only see it if looking for it as it was mentioned about the prototype and does not detract from the piece at all in the end.

    I thought the detail on Saurons armor was amazing, here in even smaller scale Elendil as befitting the high king of the men of Westernesse in middle earth has his armor gilded and covered in symbolic patterns and motifs from Numenor all in clear detailed view even in this tiny scale.

    The face sculpt although wearing a helmet is I think the most accurate likeness by Weta ever, topped by a fantastic paintjob, his eyes look alive, his armor and Narsil looks like metal and the weathering from the dirt on his shoes and cloak to the splatters of dark orc blood on his blade and armor all look great, not hastily applied nor overdone. This is real mass produced art.

    Well done to everyone involved, from the sculptor to the design, materials, painting choices and including the factory workers in China putting it all together, this is a production piece that matches the prototype in every aspect.

    If this is the new mark of quality to expect, being a collector is going to be even more fun.

    I believe this will become a very appreciated piece over time, even if a fairly low run at just under 1100 out in the wild of a rather unknown character for those not deeper into Tolkiens books. The quality of this piece, especially if you get to see it in hand or in 4k+ HDR video will raise eyebrows and start conversations, probably starting with "who is this guy?"

    Wetas best sixth scale statue ever in my opinion is who.
