For CHAPPiE (Columbia Pictures), Weta Workshop got the chance to team up once again with acclaimed director Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium). Weta Workshop generated hundreds of concept designs and props for the film, including weapons, armour, and 17

The MOOSE lives another day, thanks to the kit-bashing brains of Weta Workshop; the crew who designed and built the original film prop.

Recreate CHAPPiE’s iconic attack robot piece by piece or use your model-maker’s eye to bash together something totally new.

Grab the glue and get building.

In Neill Blomkamp’s cult sci-fi action film CHAPPiE (2015), MOOSE is a heavy weapons machine, originally engineered as a Police Force aid. In addition to creating the full-sized robot, Weta Workshop produced a miniature MOOSE mech as a tabletop prop for the film. This 1:8 scale resin kit is based off the same 3D files used to produce the MOOSE miniature, allowing you to assemble your own film prop replica.

An intermediate level of model-making skill is required to assemble this kit. The scope of the model allows you to observe all the fine details, whilst the scale allows for easy painting. One thing is for certain: when completed, the shelf-presence of the robot promises to be immense.

Weta Workshop’s expert model maker Leonard Ellis is adamant “you don’t have to build what’s on the box.” The MOOSE resin kit was designed with modification in mind. The robot’s pose is fixed, but the rest is up to you. Scavenge parts to kit bash, customise the model with a coat of paint or decorate MOOSE like it appears in CHAPPiE using the decal sheet.

  1. Unbelievable
absolutely without doubt the most detailed model I\'ve ever worked with. Really the attention to detail is unmatched. well worth the purchase if you\'re on the fence, just astonishing. The only gripe i would say i have if there was anything to complain about is the instructions are not the best. otherwise I\'m so impressed I\'m thinking i might get another one before they sell out.

  3. More, please!
Wife got me this beauty as an early birthday present. I can\'t believe I actually got the number 251/300! :o

Resin (technically, ALL) parts are absolutely marvelous in quality (flashing found is literally minimal) - in fact so much that I will take A LOT of precious time to make it count while painting. One really doesn\'t want to ruin the perfection, as even unprimed this menace is a sight to behold.

Stunning work, Weta folks. I truly hope to see more mechs in kits similar to this - regardless of scale. Kudos!
