Winner of seventeen Academy Awards, The Lord of the Rings was brought to the big screen by New Line Cinema and directed by Peter Jackson. Wētā Workshop was intrinsically involved in the design and physical effects manufacture for all three films.
Beyond Dunharrow and the Dimholt Vale lies the Dark Door, entrance to the perilous Paths of the Dead. No mortal feet dare walk this road, for the way beneath the mountains is guarded by an army of lifeless spectres ruled by the treacherous King of the Dead.
In ages long past these oath-breakers were cursed by Prince Isildur, who punished them for their faithlessness by binding them to wait in darkness upon the forgiveness of his kin. Only the true heir of Isildur can someday command the King and his army, granting them the chance to redeem their treachery and be released from the world.
Sculpting collectibles is not a game of golf, it is a marathon. Turning up day after day the sculptor can meddle away at the same square centimetre all day and come in the next day only to do it all again.
Weta Workshop: Celebrating 20 Years of Creativity
The King of the Dead is an essential part of your Lord of the Rings miniatures collection from Wētā Workshop. Designed by the same artists who work on our film projects, this minutely detailed piece is crafted in tinted translucent polyresin and stands at 7" tall - a perfect size for your desktop or bookshelf.
The King of the Dead is brought to you in an Open Edition.
Please Note: images are of a pre-production prototype. Each statue is painted by hand and slight variations will occur.
I am very pleased with this piece overall. It has wonderful color and detail. It does come in 3 pieces and they connect fairly well with magnets. The only thing I took a star off for is the sword arm. As others have mentioned, the sword is extremely fragile and the way the arm attaches, the sword is flush up against the figure. It has me a little worried and it might bend up over time, but for what the figure costs I’m very happy with it.

Great Detail , Low Quality Sword
Level of detail is very impressive with translucent material when hit the light,, But I\'m very dissapointed with the sword material ,, it\'s not solid easily to bend , better use metal for the sword. mine the sword grip is broken after unboxing.

Amazing in Person
This piece is absolutely gorgeous when you take it out of the box! The green is translucent and glows, the photos don\'t do it justice! One of the best mini figures!
