OUR STORY

For more than 27 years, Weta Workshop has created creatures, characters, and entire worlds for the screen - all from our home in Wellington, New Zealand. For a mammoth seven years, we helped to bring The Lord of the Rings to life, crafting thousands of props, costumes, weapons, armour, and miniatures! We've worked on some of the world's coolest movies like Avatar and King Kong, and even picked up five Academy Awards along the way. We're a busy bunch.

OUR COLLECTIBLES

When The Fellowship of the Ring landed in 2001, we weren't about to let the world of Middle-earth stop at the screen. We set about bringing it to shelves, cabinets, and tabletops across the globe! Channelling all that passion and artistry into beautiful statues, these amazing pieces were designed by the same Weta Workshop artists who work on our film projects. And it is still that way today.

OUR MIDDLE-EARTH MINI EPICS

15 years on, fans' insatiable hunger for all things Middle-earth shows no sign of slowing. Which got us here at the Workshop thinking: what else could we do to bring this EPIC world to collectors and film lovers across the globe? The answer: cool and quirky vinyl collectibles, straight from Middle-earth itself. MINI EPICS! Endlessly collectible. Totally adorable. These pint-sized figures have BIG personalities. And we're only just getting started...

More vinyl characters are on the way! Subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to know.

  1. Disappointed: chance for a redo
    Quality
    40%
As a devoted fan, I've eagerly awaited Weta's Legolas figure to complete my collection. Sadly, the resemblance and pose miss the mark. I urge Weta for a redo to capture Legolas's true essence. At the moment, I'm happier with an incomplete collection, than having this particular mini epic. And the worst part is that Legolas is my favourite character. Please redo (or at least fo a limited edition with a different mini epic Legolas) Thanks!

  2. looks great but
same problem here, hes bends backwards on his own and will no longer stand up, tried heating his legs in boiling water then putting him in the freezer while hes straight, but eventually he goes back to falling over very frustrating

  3. I buy as if the very whips of my masters were behind me.
Seriously these are great and I look forward to collecting the whole Fellowship. Don\'t forget MERRY & PIPPIN!

  4. Bending over problem
Like everyone pointed, this figure is never standing straight and keeps bending over... I have 6 Epic figures including this one, but this is the worst.

  5. Collapses to ground
Legolas keeps bending backwards, more and more until it won\'t stand straight, just like Cristopher pointed out.

  6. Fun but a little off?
Something about the smile seems too cheerful and not smirky enough for the serious Legolas played by Orlando Bloom. Otherwise an excellent design and I love the angled quality as he is leaning to make a shot.

  7. Meh
Setting aside the strange looks, the one I received won\'t stand up straight. Its bending over backwards like Neo in the Matrix. Very odd.

  8. Legolas Mini Epic
Love this guy! The paint is perfect, the pose is perfect, the cocky elf\'s smirk is perfect. I saw some mixed reviews on him, but I just don\'t see it. He deserves nothing but praise.

  9. A nice surprise!
Got this little fellow in my Weta Collecta box, and was initially a little disappointed, since I was hoping for Frodo or Gollum. However, after taking him out of the box I was a lot more pleased. The detail, color, and overall character in these Mini Epics are astounding! Some other reviews pointed out that the proportions were off and there were some paint blemishes, but my figure didn\'t seem to have any defects. All things considered, I\'m quite happy to have Legolas in my collection, and I\'ve now ordered Aragorn to stand alongside him!

  10. Does really look like him. Unfortunately the figure I got has a bunch of blemishes and noticeable marks. Makes me wonder if it got returned a bunch or something. This website is amazing but would just like to make sure the products come pristine.

  11. Disappointing
Love the original run of the mini epics, and was super excited for one of my favorite characters. His expression is all wrong though. The smirk makes him look evil, and the head to body proportion is wonky. Of the second trio to be released only Gandalf has the quality and expressiveness of the first set. Wish I had passed on this guy. I hope to see more mini epics, but I hope they are better designed like the first wave.
