Resplendent in shining maille and plate, Lord Elrond of Rivendell swings his blade Hadhafang against the shadowy servants of the Necromancer.

Add Lord Elrond, and his fearsome blade, to your Dol Guldur 1:30 scale diorama.

From the same team who worked on The Hobbit motion picture trilogy, comes Dol Guldur: A 1:30 Scale Collection. For the first time ever, collect your very own Middle-earth scene piece by piece and populate it with miniature figures of your choosing.

A place of dread, Dol Guldur is a ruined fortress deep in Mirkwood. Long was it thought to have been abandoned, but quietly have dark things crept into its passages, and beneath spells of concealment the Dark Lord Sauron has gathered his servants to him.

Rumour of a Necromancer drew Gandalf to the hill of Sorcery, where his suspicions were confirmed. Now the White Council must put for its strength to rescue the Grey Wizard and put the forces of darkness to flight. The stage is set for a battle of immortal powers.

After a lot of debate we decided that the first scene we’d do at 1:30 scale would be the Dol Guldur scene from The Hobbit. This is a great scene because you have so many of Middle-earth’s big heavy-hitters in it: you’ve got elves, you’ve got the Istari, you’ve got Sauron and you’ve got Ringwraiths.

Weta Workshop has developed its 1:30 scale range with accessibility for the collector in mind. Rather than one large bespoke piece, each scene fits together as a series of modular elements that can be built up over time. Collectors can then place miniature characters within the scene in limitless configurations.

The environments are available in a Limited Edition of 500 each.

Add to your set with more characters and environment pieces!

All the figures in this series are Open Edition.

  1. Not for me
I just wanted something that had a small piece of the magic. Some connection to the company that was part of making the Tolkien films.
What about the guys talking with so much passion in the presentation movie about the 1:30 pieces.
Naive of me. It\'s a nice item if you look at it at a distance. The quality of the plastic and and the paint on it is, wow, just wow.
I have better pieces from Canada Wonderland and that says allot.

Glad I didn\'t commit to something more expensive. Not for me.

  2. The perfect Elrond for me
Much like the other characters I wanted, they where just out of my price range, plus I don\'t have a lot of room on my shelf these days. Finally they brought out one of my favorite characters in a small but very detailed scale. The detail in sculpt and paint is surprisingly great for a small piece. Great job.
Please Weta, make more characters in this scale and my money is yours.
