District 9 was one of the most successful movies of 2009, nominated for 4 Academy Awards including Best Picture. Written and directed by Neill Blomkamp and produced by Peter Jackson, the film explored race relations through the language of science fiction
Wikus van der Merwe finds out the hard way that a measure of Alien DNA makes powering up and firing one of these babies a real doddle.
Sometimes, ignorance is bliss.
An exquisitely detailed replica of the gun used in Neill Blomkamp's District 9, designed by Dr Grordbort's designer Greg Broadmore and modelled on the actual props created by the artists and craftspeople at Weta Workshop.
This gun comes battle worn, alien gunk oozing out of its couplings and all the scratches and markings you'd expect from tough action in District 9 and by handling by Nigerian gun runners.
It's made of cast metal and sits on a display stand.
An awesome piece...for a miniature it has some weight to it, being cast from metal. It is very detailed and looks so good next to the miniature Assault Rifle. A big thumbs up to the guys at Weta!

The Miniture Arc Generator is an awsome piece, for a miniature it has some weight to it being cast from metal. It is very detailed and looks so good next to the miniature Assult Rifle. A big thumbs up to the guys at Weta! :-)

This mini gun is really very good, all seems to be metal apart from the spikey top bit of the Arc Generator, which I guess would be hard to mould in metal. Very detailed and well cast and painted, only whinge is that it could be a bit more weathered looking, but a very nice piece.
