Great sculpt but very dull, not like the product pictureThe product received is not as lively and colorfull as the product picture shown on this page. It is very bland greenish tone all around. The gates, the opening space infront of the gate, the rock formation all in one color. I wish Weta did a better job to make the product look like what is shown in the product promo picture.
In the product picture you see tha the gates are rusty colored, while the rocks have different shades of color that distinguish the looks of the rocks and the gates. All I received is one green colored sculpt of the Black Gates environment.
Am I supposed to customize the color myself? -

The black gatesWell done weta great little enviroment , it came with one little spike broken of but its glued back on now so I have no problem with that . I've displayed mine with baradur and orthanc minis either side of it and it looks fantastic .Once again weta well ????

I've been waiting for it for a long time and I'm very Happy!I've been waiting for it for a long time and it's finally here.
The environment is certainly small but very detailed, well job on the sculpt for the size. It is well protected in its packaging, I have had no breakage. The towers are very straight and all the small spikes are also very straight in the vast majority. The only downside for me is the paint job, The Black Gate is a bit too black, it lacks rust color on the metal parts.
Anyway, there should be more contrast between black and rust, like on the prototype. Nothing insurmountable of course if you have the material and techniques for correct that ;-). Although the paint job gives it a youthful appearance. This is a very beautiful environment, a magnificent piece for any Lord of the Rings collector and especially for anyone who collects miniatures of places from Middle Earth like me.
