When ages of misuse of the great Crystal of Truth mean the rapacious Skeksis can no longer draw its power to prolong their deplorable existence, skekTek the Scientist is ordered to find a solution.
Though by far the most diligent and meticulous of his kind, skekTek is no less cruel or unprincipled than his fellows. The culmination of his wicked experiments upon the now darkened Crystal propels him to an answer so diabolical that it will reshape the power structures of Thra forever; plunging the world into war.
In order to sustain their wretched lives and preserve their corrupt rule, the Skeksis must forcibly steal the living essence of their Gelfling subjects, gorging themselves drunkenly upon the distilled juices of their captives. Yet in devising this clever solution, the Scientist has also constructed a rod for his own back, for now he must keep the flow of essence constant or call down upon himself the wrath of the Emperor and his terrible punishments.

SPECIAL BASE DESIGN
The three different sized circular bases across our 1:6 scale Dark Crystal range represent the Three Suns in the skies of Thra; the dying sun, rose sun, and great sun. Familiar iconography from the floor of the Crystal Chamber are featured around the outside. Spy the symbols of the urSkek, which have since been appropriated as signs of discord and Skeksis aggression.
These collectibles were a dream to art direct. I feel like a Skeksis sitting at the banquet table, ready to feast on the amazing opportunities before me. There is so much to choose from!

OUR DARK CRYSTAL COLLECTIBLES
So rich and visionary was Jim Henson’s 1982 passion project that it inspired dreamers across the creative arts, including a whole generation of film effects artists now working at Wētā Workshop. Released at a time when many of our crew were young and beginning to explore their own creative energies, The Dark Crystal was an eye-opener: it was possible to bring imaginary worlds to life, and it could be a career! For years, those of us who had fallen in love with this world hoped that someday Thra might return to our screens. Thanks to Netflix, it has, and now we have the chance to express our fandom by creating super faithful, highly detailed collectible figures and prop replicas from TheDark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

Skektek arrived and immediately blew me away upon opening. The amount of detail exuding from this sculpture is incredible. The gold frills on Teks robes are a particularly stand out part, whilst the wires and eye tech he is wearing remains totally faithful to the series.

\"My eye is better than ever!\"
Ever since I became a fan of the Dark Crystal, I have always wanted a Skeksis figure of detail worthy of the puppets themselves. Weta Workshop has made that wish come true!
I\'m disappointed that I missed out on the Emperor, but I could not be happier with the Scientist. Should a statue of a certain whimpering Skeksis in red appear on the site, I\'ll be sure to get him as well!

I am skekTek the Scientist! I am a Master of Life and Death!
An exceptionally well crafted sculpt of one of my all time favorite Skeksis. skekTek is posed perfectly to show his cranky attitude and his evil obsession with dark science. The colours on his robes are spot on and I adore the details on his lab equipment and the rib cage carapace on his back. The modelling of the mechanical eye and it\'s wires is stunning. I hope to see all the other Skeksis added to this terrific line of figurines.

Very Happy With This
First time buying a Weta collectible, and I have to say, I am deeply impressed with the level of detail and quality on this sculpt. It looks absolutely fantastic, and I appreciate all the little details on SkekTek from the frills on the robes to the tools in his pouches. It really is a beautiful decorative piece. Highly recommend.
