Wētā Workshop is excited to dive into the world of Thra and create premium collectibles for the prequel series, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, which tells a new story, set many years before the events of the 1982 movie. When three Gelfling uncover the horrific truth behind the power of the Skeksis, the fires of rebellion are kindled and an epic battle for survival begins.
Gentle and full of joy, this kind Grottan Gelfling sees the best in everything and everyone.
Deet is content and happy hand-feeding nurlocs in the Caves of Grot where she lives with her family. But everything changes for Deet when the Sanctuary Tree speaks to her, giving her a vision of their world darkened and dying. Compelled by this truth to seek out the leader of the seven Gelfling clans, Deet leaves her home for the very first time to journey in the bright lands above ground. Even as the Three Suns sting in her sensitive eyes, Deet's bravery and single-minded belief in the goodness of Thra and its people drive in pursuit of her urgent quest.
FEATURES:
1:6 scale
Portrays the gentle Grottan from The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance
Prototype by Weta Workshop sculptor Steven Saunders
Sculpt developed from digital scans of the original puppet seen on screen
High-quality polystone statue, with translucent wings cast in resin
Faux-stone base features iconography from the floor of the Crystal Chamber
AN ICONIC PAIRING Joining Weta Workshop’s Dark Crystal range, Deet has been designed to accompany her friend and protector, Hup. The crescent shape of the Gelfling’s base connects with the circular base of the brave Podling. Although available as standalone statues, we recommend displaying them together as one heroic pair, straight from the fantastical world of Thra.
These collectibles were a dream to art direct. I feel like a Skeksis sitting at the banquet table, ready to feast on the amazing opportunities before me. There is so much to choose from!

Please note: images are of a pre-production prototype. Each sculpture is hand painted and minor variations will occur.
A NOTE ON OPEN EDITION COLLECTIBLES
Deet the Gelfling is an Open Edition statue, meaning it is not restricted to a specific number of reproductions; however, this does not guarantee Wētā Workshop will continue to produce the statue in the future. We recommend purchasing your Open Edition statue early, to avoid disappointment.
Crafting Collectibles from The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance
OUR DARK CRYSTAL COLLECTIBLES
So rich and visionary was Jim Henson’s 1982 passion project that it inspired dreamers across the creative arts, including a whole generation of film effects artists now working at Wētā Workshop. Released at a time when many of our crew were young and beginning to explore their own creative energies, The Dark Crystal was an eye-opener: it was possible to bring imaginary worlds to life, and it could be a career! For years, those of us who had fallen in love with this world hoped that someday Thra might return to our screens. Thanks to Netflix, it has, and now we have the chance to express our fandom by creating super faithful, highly detailed collectible figures and prop replicas from TheDark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
And this is just the beginning! More Dark Crystal collectibles are coming soon.
I love this figurine but it really fragile. A part of her clothes broke when I opened the box ????
This figurine is not possible to manipulate after setting it. It must be kept inside a display case

Another mysterious break
Just like the emperor. A part of her garment broke off on its own. One of the tassels on her left arm simply snapped off on its own. I figure this is due to the fact that the figure is made from too stiff of a material that has not cured properly this is not the only statue I have purchased from them in the dark Crystal line that has done this while sitting in the display case

Very nice, but perhaps a bit too fragile.
As with all of the other Dark Crystal statues I\'ve purchased from Weta, Deet is absolutely gorgeous with fantastic detailing in the sculpt and the paint job. Wings arrive separated from the body and they fit seamlessly into the sculpt. It displays beautifully and is well-balanced, staying upright in spite of a heavy lean. I was surprised that some of the more fragile detailing on the arms were not smaller pieces to be attached by the collector (like the wings) and unfortunately that is to the statue\'s detriment as the piece I received is the first Weta collectible I\'ve ordered that arrived damaged. The damage was fairly superficial (so superficial, in fact, that I didn\'t notice it initially until I saw the small piece that broke off lying in the box). The bit that broke off was a piece of the flowing wrist fabric. On examination of it, it is clear to see why. The wrist fabric is extremely light and very easy to bend/break. As the fabric is all one piece with the bulk of Deet\'s body and the base, these bits are far more likely to break off when the box is jostled and the bulk of the statue\'s weight shifts. On other statues I\'ve ordered (notably urVa) the more fragile bits were separate pieces to be applied by the collector. The separation from the main statue helped to keep them from becoming damaged during shipping. All of that said... this was a Weta Dollars purchase, and I picked it up pretty much for free with another statue I\'ve had my eye on during a sale. Plus, the damage is not noticeable unless you really get up close and examine the statue or know it\'s supposed to be there. I can always reattach it with modeling glue if it really starts to bug me. Still, I took off a star only because I felt the more fragile arm fabric would have been better served during shipping if the arms were detachable pieces. It looks fantastic; it\'s just maybe a bit too fragile.

Dissapointing, very different from the photos
The tone of this piece is completely different to the photos sadly! Mine is much colder, the hair is less yellow, more green, eyes have much more red….It looks nothing like the pictures!
A real shame but I was disappointed with this piece.

Journey into the Caves of Grot
Ordered it as soon as it was available. Weta really outdid themselves with with one; they successfully managed to capture the gentle gelfling’s character in this beautiful sculpt.

So beautiful!
I had to wait months for Deet and then Brexit delays but she is SO worth the wait! Absolutely perfect and stunningly beautiful. Only problem was the space on the stand for Hup so I’ve just ordered him!! The two together will be amazing! Thank you for the skill & talent in creating these fabulous figures.

Far from the Brother\'s blinding light
My favourite Gelfling Character turned out to also be my favourite Weta Workshop made Gelfling Figurine, the colour of Deet\'s Skin, Hair and Clothes perfectly matches the character in the TV series, her wings are gorgeous with shimmering colours and beautifully sculpted. I truly hope to see more Gelflings, Skeksis, Mystics and other creatures of Thra included in this marvelous line of collectables.

Deet has landed
Well Weta, another crackin statue in the Dark Crystal line. Deet is beautiful and the detailing on the wings is sublime. Love the colour variations on the wing. This like the others is a work of art. Please more in this line especially the Skeksis & Jen & Kira with Fizzgig

Beautiful but came damaged
I love this statue and own the Brea one as well. However Deet arrived with her calf white and cracking. The paint where her boot is either unfinished or damaged noticeably which is disapointing.

Wonderful pose, accuracy and detail.I absolutely love the translucent wings. It\'s a steal @ $150. This would make a nice addition to any \"Fantasy\" collection.
