Orc war commander Gothmog’s chief lieutenant was a lean, straight-backed Gorgoroth Orc with a face rent by a savage wound. Determined to stand out amongst his troops during the Siege of Minas Tirith, the Lieutenant wore a distinctive helm of his own fashioning.

A close-fitting cap of iron, it was crested with a tall spike onto which was impaled a human skull. Dried flesh and scraps of hair still clung to the bleached bone, a grizzly war trophy from some past melee.

During the siege the Lieutenant commanded a small force of Orcs holding the Harlond docks, where he awaited reinforcements from Umbar. Unfortunately for the officer, the ships that pulled up alongside contained not Corsairs, but Aragorn and his Army of the Dead, who made short work of him and his troops.

Our authentic prop replicas and collectibles are designed by the very same artists who have worked on the three films, so effectively they come straight from Middle-earth.

Richard Taylor - CEO & Co-founder, Weta Workshop

Back by popular demand, Weta Workshop is proud to announce the return of its Helm series. Each 1:4 scale Helm is made from polystone and comes in an edition of just 750.

Please note: images are of a pre-production prototype. Each sculpture is hand painted and minor variations will occur.

Weta Workshop’s high-quality Middle-earth collectibles are designed by the very same artists and technicians who work on our movies. It takes 400-500 hours to design, sculpt, model make, mold, and paint the prototype for each new piece. Whether it be a prop replica, beautiful environment or iconic character, we treat our collectibles with the same level of care and attention to detail that we bring to our film work.

  2. Really amazing helm!
This helm is totally worth a five star rating! If the material can be a bit of an issue for the Dain Ironfoot or the Witch-King helms, the looks of this one totally makes up for it! The hair and the paint job on this one are outstanding and makes it one helm that can stand proud in the collection. Really great helm!

  3. Skully Helm the jewel of Helm Collectors!
Hands down one of the best miniature Helms ever produced by Weta, what a wonderful piece of art this helm really is. You really can not tell the difference compared to metal. A triumph!

  4. Outstanding Helm
My stand (at least) is numbered 609 - but the outstanding quality of the paintwork makes me wonder if my actual helm is one of the first batch painted! Fantastic attention to detail.
All due respect to the Weta crew, of course; but I have to say that - if My Helm is any indication of the casting, painting, decorating skills of the \'manufacturers\', then Weta have found an Excellent partner to reproduce their wares.
Also, the packaging is a subtle, but considered, step up from that of earlier Helms.
Perhaps its a little over-the-top now that the weight of metal is not an issue: but at least they won\'t be getting (m)any returns due to damage!
