When Aragorn and his hobbit charges were hunted through the wilds of Eriador by Sauron’s Ringwraiths, the Elf princess Arwen seized sword and saddle, and rode from Rivendell to meet him. In the Trollshaw Forest Arwen found her love, but the Wraiths were close.

Hobbit Frodo Baggins had been stabbed by a Morgul blade, and even now its shard worked its way ever closer to his heart. On foot they had no chance, but holding Frodo to her, Arwen spurred her valiant mount Asfaloth into the sprint of his life. With the Nine Nazgûl at their heels, Arwen and Frodo rode alone for the Ford of Bruinen, where she hoped the enchanted waters of her father’s home might protect them from their pursuers.

COMIC-CON REVEAL

Unveiled for the first time at San Diego Comic-Con in 2018, Wētā Workshop presents Arwen and Frodo on Asfaloth: our dynamic polystone that perfectly captures this dangerous and daring rescue.

In an unforgettable showdown, Arwen sets her will and turns to face her shadowy pursuers.  Though outnumbered and in deadly peril, Arwen fearlessly stands her ground before the Nine terrifying Ringwraiths.

Sculpting collectibles is not a game of golf, it is a marathon. Turning up day after day the sculptor can meddle away at the same square centimetre all day and come in the next day only to do it all again.

Weta Workshop: Celebrating 20 Years of Creativity

Sculpted by hand, this collectible defies expectation for what can be captured in polystone. The robes of our heroine billow out as she wields Hadhafang, etched with Elven runes, against the Nine. The first time Wētā Workshop has crafted water in such a way: near clear, water-effect resin appears to splash up from the River Bruinen itself.

Sculpted by the masterful Jane Wenley, Arwen and Frodo on Asfaloth joins Wētā Workshop’s high-quality 1:6 scale Middle-earth line; a line that is designed by the very same artists and technicians who work on our movies.

Arwen and Frodo on Asfaloth

It takes hundreds of hours to design, sculpt, model make, mold, and paint the prototype for each new Middle-earth piece. Whether it be a prop replica, beautiful environment or iconic character, we treat our collectibles with the same level of care and attention to detail that we bring to our film work.

Please note: images are of pre-production prototype. Each item is painted by hand and variations will occur.

  1. Extremely well done
The portrait, the painting and detailing are extremely well done. I\'m very glad to have this piece. If you wait to long you\'ll be kicking yourself.

  2. Absolutely Stunning!
Finally received mine and the detail is even better than expected. One note, be extra careful unboxing, with all that detail comes the chance of bumping or snagging on the packaging. From experience I can tell you that Arwen\'s scabbard is particularly delicate.

  3. Pictures don\'t do this justice
Beautiful piece for my LOTR collection. Excellent detail for all 3 components (Arwen, Frodo, Asfaloth). Can\'t wait for the matching Nazgul piece.

  4. A beautiful sculpture
First of all, I\'d like to say that the sculpture is really wonderful.
You can see how much work there is in it.
The only thing I don\'t like is the quality of the material. For this price, the material could be a little higher quality.
Nevertheless I love this sculpture and would buy it again at any time!

  5. Beautiful piece
Arrived yesterday and I am absolutely thrilled with it. My very favourite scene from the films has been reproduced beautifully, in a piece which is substantial in size and perfect in every detail. From Arwen\'s features to the detailling on Asfaloth, this is something I will treasure always.

My favourite Weta piece by far.

  6. Stunning Addition
Received this piece today, and it does not disappoint! It\'s an amazing statue with so much detail, I love the effect of the water and the silky opaque look of Arwen\'s clothes, including the splatters of mud! Taken from one of my favourite scenes from the Fellowship, I knew I had to snag myself one as soon as I saw her. Well done again WETA :)

  7. Drooled on the case (figurativley) at SDCC
When they revealed this piece at SDCC I was practically drooling on her case. This is my favorite scene of Arwen from the films. I have this costume and love the strength she shows during her chase with the Ringwraiths. The movement captured in the piece is incredible. I think they captured Liv\'s likeness really well and Frodo looks perfectly sickly like he did in the film. The colors in the costume are on par with the film and photographs I\'ve seen. The piece itself was a good size and I can see why the price is a little higher. I was thoroughly impressed with it when they displayed the prototype. I preordered this the day I saw her. I can\'t wait to have her join my elven collection.

  8. Memorable scene from the film
The \"flight to the Ford\" from the Book is one of my favorite chapter. In spite of - a sum of - modifications, this scene, in the film, is a wonderful release. You know what can make a good companion : The raging whitewater of Bruinen !

  10. Disappointing
I know this hasn\'t been released yet, but her face looks nothing like Arwen. It is that same pinched face as the miniature, except this one was given droopy eyes as well. Her outfit is stunning, and the details on the horse and Frodo are on point, but her face is such a huge disappointment. Plus, the price is ridiculous. I love what WETA has produced thus far, and I have acquired a huge collection, but the face sculpture is definitely lacking, and the $700 price tag is outrageous. I would love if Arwen was released as a stand-alone figure either in the coronation gown (ROTK), or dream sequence(TTT). She is such an amazing character, and deserves to be honored with a sculpture that truly captures her. I would have jumped at the chance to purchase this, but now with that face, I am on the fence, and can\'t justify purchasing something that is so far off the characters likeness.

  11. I’ve been waiting years for this piece!
I am positively beside myself with excitement for this piece. I have been waiting years for not just a stunning 1/6 scale Arwen piece, but one from this moment in the trilogy specifically. I wouldn’t change a single thing. Gorgeous, gorgeous work. The water and chiffon material in her dress are such great touches. You have truly captured the energy and feeling of this iconic moment. I cannot wait to add this to my collection - it can’t get here soon enough!!

  13. Awesome

  14. Looks great, but...
So many people have been waiting so long for a 1/6th scale Arwen solo release. Remember the early Arwen sideshow releases that were always lacking a certain degree of realism. The technology has come a long way since those days. Although Frodo looks great, did he really have to be included? I think you\'ve missed the beat of your true fans here Weta!
