After long labour beneath the sun, when the day’s weariness lies heavy and the western sky burns with fading gold, it is the hearth’s glow and the kindly murmur of familiar voices that bring ease to heart and limb. While the furrows and gardens may yet await the morrow’s hand; for now, let the plough rest and the hoe lie idle. 'Tis the eve, the doors of the Green Dragon stand open, and within there is comfort enough for all.

Wētā Workshop designer Gus Hunter depicts the Green Dragon Inn on a warm afternoon, where hobbits have gathered to relax amongst shared food and drink. It is a time of peace, far from the troubles and worries of Middle-earth; a place of simple pleasures and homely delights.
This moment has been expertly captured by Gus Hunter: long-time Wētā Workshop conceptual designer who started on The Lord of The Rings trilogy alongside Jeremy Bennett and was an early adopter of the digital painting techniques Wētā Workshop uses today.

There are people of extraordinary talent operating in today's world that have similar skills as the great masters of yesteryear. It just happens to be that the canvas that they paint on is the darkened screen of the cinemas of the world.

Richard Taylor - CEO & Co-founder, Weta Workshop

The external dimensions of the print are 23.2in x 11.7in (590mm x 297mm) and the printed area is 20.9in x 8.9in (530mm x 235mm). A lovely cinematic format. Exactly the same size as the previously released prints.

It's printed on good quality 170 gsm satin paper and ships rolled up in a sturdy poster tube, ready to be framed and hung, pride of place, in your home.
