The highly-anticipated live-action film, starring Scarlett Johansson, is based on the internationally-acclaimed Anime property. Ghost in the Shell follows Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9 devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists.

A pivotal action sequence called for a series of beautiful but deadly Geisha. With costume designers Kurt and Bart, the Workshop helped design distinctive make-up, hair and kimono ensembles, imbuing each character with a unique look to be recreated on the Workshop floor.

Featuring sculptural wigs, silicone limbs, and animatronic masks with moving jaws, these Geisha pushed Weta Workshop into new creative territory, expanding the scope of what could be achieved through physical effects.

Take home a piece of that incredible workmanship with Weta Workshop's gorgeous Geisha collectible. Only 500 have been made.

When you look at the source material and what Masamune Shirow put together, you just want to protect that because it's so genius. And that's Weta Workshop in general: we like to protect the source material...really dig in there and try to figure out the spirit of what that material is and how to bring that to screen.

  1. Glad I ordered one of the few remaining
For me, the robotic Geisha is the most fascinating character Weta has created for this movie. The model is very well built with lots of nice details such as magnets to hold various parts of the statue.

  2. It\'s one of the best WETA statues.
    Less is more.
This seems to be a simple statue, compared to the Major one. But the devil is in the detail. The robot face, both sculpt and paint are awesome. The kimono is well made, the base looks like real tatami.
Only minor nit is that the battery\'s not included, also there\'s no info for the battery type. Other than that, this is one perfect statue of the Ghost in The Shell robot Geisha!
Well done Lindsey! bravo Weta! :)

The boxing is fantastic looking with plenty of info on the production along with all the artists involved.
The Geisha is fantastic looking and very well built.
I love wight and how solid this feels.
The detail is more than I expected.
Love the painting and the kimono.
    Nice work!

  4. Light Function
I get the Geisha Statue and she is amazing. The clothes are very Beautiful.
I did not know why Weta put not the Batteries or even a descriptionin the Box.
I ask Weta for the Light Function but they did not answer my Question until yet.
So i found it out myself.
You need 2 AG13 Batteries and the switch to turn the light function on is on the back of the Neck.

  5. Geisha Geisha Geisha!
I just got my Geisha figure (3 Apr 17). I purchased from a retailer in my home country as the postage was much cheaper. I am very happy with this statue. Both heads are beautifully painted and the body of the figure is what surprised me - The dress is made from real sewn fabrics of a very high attention to detail. I have a number of excellent polystone WETA figures and the fabric dressed ones are also outstanding. My only issue is that no battery was included for the light up collar on the statue (I don\'t know if that is normal or an omission) and no information on what type of battery is required so I have contacted WETA for this information. I have not seen the movie yet but this figure will not disappoint.
