DAGGERS OF TAURIEL

Prop Replica
Dimensions:
(W x H x L) 34 cm x 48 cm x 5 cm
Weight: 2.425 lbs (1.1 kg)

Slender and keen edged were the knives of Tauriel of the Woodland Realm, fitting arms for a lady warrior of equal keenness and skill.

Tauriel's golden-hued blades were wrought in the cavern smithies of her people, the Sindar, deep beneath the once beautiful Greenwood, now a sick and evil place, called Mirkwood by most. Few would dare tread its paths unarmed.

Tauriel's blades remain ever at the ready when she leads sorties into the forest to drive back the fell spiders and worse creatures that now haunt the dying wood.

Tauriel's daggers were created for the film by the artists at Weta Workshop. Incredibly tough, yet safer than a sharpened steel blade, they have been finished to a standard that can confidently be displayed in 3D, high resolution, at 48 frames per second in the finished movie.

This prop replica has been created from molds of the original weapons used in the film, using the same high impact urethane material as the props on set and finished using the same techniques and materials.

We have chosen to present our collector's edition of Hobbit weapons in the same material used for the making of the film props, to exactly replicate the techniques and artistry used in the films.

Richard Taylor - CEO & Co-founder, Weta Workshop

The Daggers of Tauriel come with a reinforced polystone wall plaque for display, pride of place, on your wall.

Please note: images are of pre-production prototype. Each set is painted by hand and variations will occur.

Weta Workshop’s authentic prop replicas are designed by the very same artists and technicians who work on our movies, using the same techniques and materials. We treat our prop replicas with the same level of care, quality and attention to detail that we bring to our film work.

  1. both have advantages and disadvantages
I waited for almost a year since I preordered it.
Ad:It is light and you can hold it easily just like Tauriel .
It is beautiful for display. And you can play with it any time you want.
Dis:it might be disapointting for those who are expecting a delicate masterpiece.
But it is much cheaper than Sting, etc.
Anyway, if you really like Tauriel and you want to wave a dagger as cool as she is.It's worth it.

  3. Love
My fiancé bought these daggers for me for valentines day, I'm doing a cosplay of Tauriel and I'm making my own daggers to use but these will be great to use as a template for shape and color! They look great on my wall and in hand! They look like they're right out of the movie.

  4. I wish they put in more weight in it
I ordered this stuuf because to me getting stuff from Weta Workshop is a s close as anybody could get to the real prop.

    Pros:
    1) As near as you can get to the original prop.
    2) It's not metal, making importing it to countries like Malaysia is possible without being confiscated by Customs.
    3) Awesome display

    Cons:
    1) Lightweight.
    2) Feel cheap..

  5. Just ordered
I just ordered the daggers of Tauriel. When I look at the reviews now I really hope that they are not that "plasticy" as others describe them. I don't want to refund them, hope they are as awesome as the picture.

  6. Okay
They are more like plastic toy 'daggers'. Great for cosplaying but not the best look when on display as they do appear cheaply painted. Tips of mine broke off during travel, so I was annoyed about that. Not worth $150.

  7. Great But
the hilt of the weapon is amazing you cant tell its not wood the blade however is obvious even from far due to a very poor paint job i still love them though

  8. Plastic Blades Don't Cut It
I have the Knives of Legolass, Sting, and the Elven Knife of Strider and Glamdring. They are beautiful, they feature real steel or brass fittings and steel blades. The scabbards are made of real metal and leather. Don't let them pass of this cheap plastic imitation. Just say NO.

  9. Not what they appear
The daggers are plastic, lightweight and they look like a Halloween prop. The base that holds them is of excellent quality. It was a letdown for me personally, owning such wonderfully made swords, knives etc. These daggers look better on the site than in person. I sent mine back in for a refund.

I got these for my wife and we are both thrilled at the quality. Very well made and painted, looks like they came right off the set!

  11. Amazing and authentic!
Absolutely thrilled at how these daggers look exactly like the images from the film promos (Entertainment Magazine cover - 11/15/13). Exacting detail and authentic hand made appearance. Will look amazing mounted next to my Glamdring!
