SMAUG THE FIRE-DRAKE: A DIRE MENACE – PAPER GICLEE

By Jerry Vanderstelt - Limited Edition of 2,000
Dimensions:
(W x H x D) 45.7 cm x 61 cm x 0.1 cm

As a living incarnation of dread, magnificent in excess, and gluttonous beyond restraint, Smaug knew no equal in the lands of Dwarves and Men.

From the North he came like a searing wind, falling first upon the city of Dale without warning, laying waste to its defences. Next, Smaug turned his baleful gaze upon the doors of the Dwarf realm of Erebor itself and inexorable was his advance. All fell before him as the Dragon turned everything in his path to ash: tree, spear, or soul. Those not burned or devoured fled before his wrath, and the roars of the Dragon’s triumph followed them as they fled, echoing through lands once under the dominion of Thrór, now desolate and scorched. The Mountain had a new King.

Smaug the Fire-Drake – A Dire Menace giclee print joins a range of gorgeous art prints and lithographs by Jerry Vanderstelt.

Tolkien's world of Middle-earth is a far-reaching story of sweeping landscapes and breathtaking castles set deep in its own detailed and ancient history. Along with its many stories, races and tales of war and honour, the books describe cities and castles equally as rich and detailed as the characters who live within them.

Man I wish I could buy everything. I really love Smaug so I knew I needed this. The paint gives off texture that makes the wings look nearly 3D. Everything about this piece looks alive. I'm so stoked to have made this purchase, it was worth every penny.

Another beautiful masterpiece by Jerry Vanderstelt! Really captures the terrible Smaug. Shades, colours and lines look very sharp.
