In happier days, when the peoples of Dale and Erebor enjoyed prosperity and peace, the defences of the city of Dale were manned, but few believed they would ever be needed.
When the Dragon Smaug fell upon Dale, its people were ill prepared and many perished amid the flame and ruin of the beast's first assault. Only one of the city's wind lances would loose its black iron bolts at the Dragon.
Guided by the sharp eyes and brave hands of Girion, Lord of Dale, long black arrows, each as tall as a man, flew at Smaug. Most would glance harmlessly off the Wyrm's armoured hide, but one alone struck true, finding its mark and knocking loose a single scale from the Dragon's underside to expose a tiny patch of unprotected flesh near his heart.
Vulnerable as the Dragon now was, Girion would never have his final shot. Dale was destroyed and Smaug proceeded to sack the Dwarf city of Erebor, leaving the last of the wind lances and its remaining black arrow standing, an impotent monument to their defeat.
Hanging as an heirloom in the home of Bard, a humble ferryman in Lake-town and descendant of Girion, it would be generations before a black arrow would fly again...
This 1:1 Scale Black Arrow prop replica is made from metal reinforced fibreglass with a urethane head and vinyl fletching and comes with two urethane hooks for horizontal display, pride of place, on your wall.
We have chosen to present our collector's edition of Hobbit weapons in the same material used for the making of the film props, to exactly replicate the techniques and artistry used in the films.

I got this arrow when it was up for preorder and I really loved it when it came!
My only problem is that the tip was a bit damaged when it arrived, when mounted it is\'t noticable but if you take it down to look closer it clearly visable!
Also the 2 part don\'t fit together perfect.
But still a nice piece! -
Beautiful but very fragileArrow arrived damaged.Just no protection for the tip of the arrow.Either happened in shipping or when been packed into the box.Not the first to have this happen regarding this item.

Beautiful but very fragileMy arrow arrived today.The workmanship is outstanding but all that was ruined when I saw the tip of the arrow damaged.Just not good enough in the handling of a fragile piece.No markings on the shipping box stating the word fragile was to be seen.The arrow head needed a lot more protection when it was been packed.

GorgeousI purchased the Black Arrow for my partner for Christmas. It is a really lovely replica, the first thing that\'s impressive is the size, 1.9m sounds big in the description, but actually holding it is another matter. This thing is BIG.
The details are fantastic, he shaft look like real wood and the tip like real metal, all wonderfully finished.
It comes in 2 pieces, screwed together in the centre and once it\'s assemble you cannot tell where the join is thanks to some ingenious string detailing.
The brackets it comes with are simple yet well designed and do not look out of place at all.
A wonderful addition to any fans wall! -

very nice but plz more carefullyit `s a long gourney from nz to chn ~ the black arrow is very nice ,i love it. but weta plz be more carefully in transport ，in the huge box there is not a measure to protect the arrowhead ,so after a long transport my arrowhead has been damaged. plz more carefully~

Very niceThis arrow is very nice and is a must for every LOTR and Hobbit collector. It looks so real it made me want to get a bow and look for Smaug and shoot him down.

ABSOLUTE STUNNERI ordered this for my husband on a Sunday and had it by Wednesday. My husband could hardly contain himself when he intercepted the mail before I could and saw what it was I ordered him. ( FYI no discreet packaging. It says right on there what it is.) He opened it it up and I could not believe how well packaged it was. It was securely tied down in several places with styrofoam and padding. The arrow comes in 2 pieces and screws together somewhat near the center. It's absolutely stunning. Looking at it you would think it is pure iron. The painting and coloring is spot on. It looks like something you'd expect to find from an iron workers hands. There is some extra details on it that the picture doesn't show. There's a small part wrapped in twine, maybe an inch or so, towards the feathery end and some nice detailing where the two pieces screw together. The brackets it comes with are also black and very nice. I can't wait for my husband to hang this up in our "LOTR" room. It's an amazing addition and beautiful addition to the collection. Happy Husband, Happy Wife, right?

LongerWhen the arrow arrived and I unpacked it, I held it up to the wall where I planned to hang it and it looked longer than 191 cm that this site stated. So I measured it and the arrow was actually 210 cm long (82.6"). And it's actually brown not black, but I guess thats the actual color the arrow was in the movies. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I love the arrow, it's beautiful and well made and it will hang proud in my collection when I have found a wall where it will fit. :-)

A bit more than expectedAlthough the fletching isn't as faltering as the pre production one the arrow is still an amazing piece what I didn't expect was that if you get the arrow head in bright lighting it has a sheen of rust in the silver areas which I didn't expect. My edition number is 54

Looks Great on Our WallThe Black Arrow is large, wonderfully detailed, and looks amazing on our wall. We made sure to put it in our front room, so we see could it often and anyone who visits will be totally jealous. :D The brackets it came with to mount it on the wall match the style of The Hobbit so they don't distract from the Black Arrow itself. It also came packaged really well.
