OUR STORY

For more than 27 years, Weta Workshop has created creatures, characters, and entire worlds for the screen - all from our home in Wellington, New Zealand. For a mammoth seven years, we helped to bring The Lord of the Rings to life, crafting thousands of props, costumes, weapons, armour, and miniatures! We've worked on some of the world's coolest movies like Avatar and King Kong, and even picked up five Academy Awards along the way. We're a busy bunch.

OUR COLLECTIBLES

When The Fellowship of the Ring landed in 2001, we weren't about to let the world of Middle-earth stop at the screen. We set about bringing it to shelves, cabinets, and tabletops across the globe! Channelling all that passion and artistry into beautiful statues, these amazing pieces were designed by the same Weta Workshop artists who work on our film projects. And it is still that way today.

OUR MIDDLE-EARTH MINI EPICS

15 years on, fans' insatiable hunger for all things Middle-earth shows no sign of slowing. Which got us here at the Workshop thinking: what else could we do to bring this EPIC world to collectors and film lovers across the globe? The answer: cool and quirky vinyl collectibles, straight from Middle-earth itself. MINI EPICS! Endlessly collectible. Totally adorable. These pint-sized figures have BIG personalities. And we're only just getting started...

  1. Figure defys gravity !!
First off I am big fan of this line and own almost every figure. However I don\'t care too much for the Aragorn and Legolas figure. Simply because Aragorn leans way too forward and Legolas leans way far back. (Most unnatural for a figure) All the rest of the line is awesome and I am very pleased with the majority. WETA go back and give new versions of Aragorn and Legolas please !!!

  2. He\'s one of them rangers. Dangerous folk they are, wanderin\' the wilds...
What his right name is I never heard, but \'round here, he\'s known as Strider.

  3. Almost perfect
I\'m a HUGE fan of Weta\'s Mini Epics Lord of the Rings line. It\'s such a fun and amazing way to collect these beloved characters. Aragorn, as one of my top favorite characters, was a figure I couldn\'t wait to add to my growing collection. For the most part Weta didn\'t disappoint. My only issue with this particular figure is he doesn\'t stand properly on the base. His feet is sort of warped which prevents him from standing flush with the base. Depending on which foot is warped and in what angle it bends, the figure will settle in time and come flush with the base. The problem with this is the figure develops a horrible lean. Mine did this and I ultimately decided to purchase a second figure. My new figure is better due to how his feet are warped (yes, warped again). But now he stands upright though there\'s space between his feet and the base. Personally I think it\'s more important for him to stand upright than lean as my first figure had. I think the biggest issue Weta needs to address with these amazing figures is finding a way they can have these guys stand on their bases properly because Aragorn isn\'t the first figure to have this issue. Gollum doesn\'t stand flush on his base either but due to how he\'s posed, it\'s not as big an issue. Just some food for thought fellow collectors. :)

  4. Strider
This Mini Epic captures Aragorn\'s character beautifully. The sculpt and paint are perfect, down to the tiny Ring of Barahir on his finger, and the details of his scabbard. He looks great next to my Legolas! I would also love to see another Aragorn Mini Epic in his coronation outfit or Black Gate armor.

  5. The weak link
I feel that of the 11 released as of this review, Aragorn stands as the weak link with a bland and forgettable face marring an otherwise excellent sculpt. It just doesn\'t look like Viggo at all.

  6. Aragorn Mini Epic
As with the others, I love this figure. Aragorn is ready for action and his spirit comes across beautifully. I was once again shocked by the negative remarks made by previous buyers. To each his own, I guess.

  7. Could have been better
Love the original run of the mini epics, and was super excited for some of my favorite characters. Aragorn made out better than Legolas in this set but he is still underwhelming. Of the second trio to be released only Gandalf has the quality and expressiveness of the first set. Wish I had passed on this guy. I hope to see more mini epics, but I hope they are better designed like the first wave.

  8. Disappointing
I had high hopes for this figure, but I have to say those hopes were somewhat disappointed. When standing this Aragorn next to the exceptional, exquisite Mini Epics Frodo, Aragorn\'s proportions look wrong. His face looks tiny, his skin tone looks off, and the degree of back sway is over exaggerated.
I won\'t be assembling a Mini Epics Fellowship as I had hoped, since I\'ve given Legolas a pass due to his silly expression. Gandalf is pretty good, but I\'ve had to set Aragorn apart from Frodo, because the quality just doesn\'t match. On his own, he doesn\'t look too bad, but still a bit disappointing.
