Having won the kingdom of Erebor from the Dragon Smaug at the point of Bard’s arrow, Thorin Oakenshield sits upon the throne of his fathers, the crown of Thror upon his head. Yet all is not well in the mountain kingdom, for a new battle rages beneath the king’s brow: the battle for Thorin’s mind.

A terrible need gnaws at the soul of the King Under the Mountain. Dragon-sickness it is called by some: an insatiable void that compels Thorin to abandon compassion, honour, reason, and even the bonds of friendship and blood, for all he can think of is the gold. No appeal to his word by Bard can move him to shelter the needy people of Lake-town, no admonishment by his own kin can stir him from his jealous contemplation, nor the slaying of his cousins from the Iron Hills upon his very threshold compel the master of Erebor to join the fight outside. Only Thorin himself can wrestle through this madness and find within him the man he once was, and the king he was supposed to be.

Brought to you in a Limited Edition of just 750, King Thorin on Throne joins our high-quality 1:6 scale line from The Hobbit.

Our authentic prop replicas and collectibles are designed by the very same artists who have worked on the three films, so effectively they come straight from Middle-earth.

CREATING KING THORIN ON THRONE

Devised at the Workshop in collaboration with the 3Foot6 make-up and costume department, Thorin’s look was designed to reflect his troubled state of mind. Weta Workshop concept designer Nick Keller worked with the writers to evolve the elaborate and beautiful armour. For Thorin’s equally elaborate collectible version, the figure was digitally sculpted by artist Lindsey Crummett; his throne, impossibly large on screen, carefully resized and built from wood and plastic by model-maker David Tremont. The finished piece is a perfect example of digital and physical techniques working together in harmony.

  1. Broken dreams and fading glory.
This is amongst the finest pieces I own. It\'s simple theme of a troubled King sitting on a broken throne contemplating all that has befallen him and his kingdom. Thorin is resplendent in his golden armour which has been beautifully replicated and painted to a high standard. Thorin himself has been very well sculpted with a great likeness and expression of the melancholy king. His regal sword and shield propped against his feet as he sits on a claw shattered, fire damaged throne courtesy of the dragon Smaug.
A tall, heavy piece that really captures a mood.
Highly recommended, especially if you are lucky enough to own the matching King Thrain on Throne piece.

  2. Stunning!
The pictures alone simply don\'t do it justice. The detail is magnificent! Hopefully my first of many from Weta.

  3. MAJESTIC!
I too\'d and fro\'d about buying this piece. It looked so good but did they really capture the tragic king? I finally caved and bought it and, yes, yes they did capture Thorin. The statue is beautiful, the painting is masterful and it looks amazing on the shelf.

  7. Majestic. He is worth the price!
Thorin is my favourite Middle-Earth character and Thorin\'s dragon sickness is my favourite part of the movies, so I always wanted this piece. I hesitated a lot before finally I ordered him, because the price was too high for me. I didn\'t regret it! Thorin is my first 1/6 statue, and I really surprized at the size. He is bigger than I thought, and he is more beautiful as well. I saw pictures and videos, before I decided to purchase, and it\'s really true, that pictures don\'t reflect the reality. The golden armour looks actually like real gold, the face is more expressive and realistic than in the pictures, and the shield itself is a separate artwork! I really love this statue! Thank you Weta!

  9. Rich, lush, beautifully done
A \"surprise\" piece that looks absolutely stellar paired on a shelf with Thor. Beautiful careful paint - Thorin\'s face is not a flat color, there is subtle speckling for flesh tone - carefully done hands. Lovely gleaming metallic paint neatly done. I love the way the hair spills over his shoulders LOL Thorin\'s amazing hair. Appreciate the careful QC! Even on a dark shelf he gleams, but the throne is dusted with age and *Smaug damage*. There\'s a sense of movement and power. Well done WETA a piece for any lover of the films and Middle Earth

  10. Amazing
My Thorin arrived yesterday and it is simply stunning. The level of detail in the clothes/Armour and the sense of emotion in Thorin\'s pose make this to me a must have. I have him situated between Fili and Kili, and they look fabulous together.

  14. Totall Awesome
Congrats to Lindsay for knocking this out the park!!! Just fantastic. I love the damaged to the throne and the way the sword and shield are just leaning on the throne. The look on Thorin\'s face. What a great companion to Thror on Throne. Thank you Weta and Linsday. Already ordered it.
