In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole. It was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.

Scattered among the grassy hills of Hobbiton like a purse full of lost coins, the bright round doors of many dozen hobbit-holes shine in bright, summery hues, each home to a hobbit or family of the little people.

Down the hill and across the water lies the favourite watering hole of every Hobbiton inhabitant, the Green Dragon, an establishment of impeccable repute where cool ale and warm conversation wash away a day's tests and toils. Any night of the week a chorus of laughter and cheer rises with wood smoke from around the Dragon's glowing hearths, rosy-cheeked, full-bellied patrons singing a lazily sinking sun to sleep.

Our authentic prop replicas and collectibles are designed by the very same artists who have worked on the three films, so effectively they come straight from Middle-earth.

Richard Taylor - CEO & Co-founder, Weta Workshop

This gorgeous little environment is an exacting miniature replica of the movie set that can be visited at Hobbiton in Matamata, New Zealand. It is an Open Edition piece.

Please note: This miniature environment was designed and prototyped here at the Workshop. Images are of a pre-production prototype. Each finished environment is painted by hand and slight variations will occur.

Weta Workshop’s high-quality Middle-earth collectibles are designed by the very same artists and technicians who work on our movies. It takes 400-500 hours to design, sculpt, model make, mold, and paint the prototype for each new piece. Whether it be a prop replica, beautiful environment or iconic character, we treat our collectibles with the same level of care and attention to detail that we bring to our film work.

  1. Another Masterpiece
This just arrived today to join my growing Environment collection and I\'m very happy with it. Great detail. The little (tiny) dragon on the post out front is a wonderful addition. The WETA artists at their best. And it\'s on sale - buy it!!

  2. Screamed like a six year old girl.
This was so exciting to unbox.
The Green Dragon is so well detailed that I can't express how impressive it is with the rest of the hobbiton pieces. The beautiful craftsmanship by the artists involved is amazing!!

  3. Way too small for price.
It's a reasonable little piece, but for the price it is very small. You'd hope that it would be panoramic and not just one side for the price and the fact it is open edition.

  4. Green Draonlet
This was a bit disappointing. I hope Weta does a large scale version which shows the whole building. This one chops off the sides and back so you don't even get the full roof of the section shown.

  6. Great Little Details
Very happy to add this piece to my growing Hobbiton! Lots of great tiny details, including the post with the miniature yet elegant dragon on top! The nooks and crannies make you take your time looking, and you can clearly see EVERY piece of straw that makes up the rooftops. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the two ends are solid black which deters the eye a little from the rest of the piece. I think it would have been better just to finish the edges of the buildings, but absolutely this is worthy of any collection!
