This year, the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival have honoured Richard Taylor.
He received the film festival's King Vidor Career Achievement Award, which honours excellence in filmmaking.
"He is extremely well-loved in the film business and in general," festival Executive Director Wendy Eidson said.
Richard Taylor and Tania Rodger attended the awards ceremony in San Luis Obispo.
Richard commented on the event:
It was an amazing experience going up to San Luis Obsipo and having a chance to get a tour of the Hearst Castle - the twilight hour on the night before the Awards Ceremony is a memory I will keep with me for the rest of my life.
The film festival was fantastic and hugely well supported by the local community. I also got to see Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan, as Billy was supporting a film he was doing and Dominic in turn supporting Billy. It was great to have a catch up.
The audience were mainly students from the CAL POLY and it was great to have a chance to answer the engaging questions that were asked of the panel.
Tania and I had a lovely time and a big thank you to the organisers who looked after us so well."
