Here at Wētā Workshop, storytelling is sculpted into every curve and contour. For this once-in-a-lifetime sculpture, our senior sculptor Brigitte Wuest, renowned for her mastery of bronze, brought to life a beloved icon with expert craft and careful reverence.
Snoopy: First Beagle on the Moon is the meeting point of pop culture and space history. Snoopy has played a vital role in NASA’s story since the 1960s, serving as the official safety mascot and even lending his name to the Apollo 10 lunar module. Snoopy was a beloved part of my childhood, and as someone who has always loved dogs, I was especially fond of his expressive personality. Being involved in the creation of this bronze sculpture was truly special. To me, it was important to capture Snoopy’s spirit in his simple forms; something Charles M. Schulz was a true master of.
