Fan Pics

One of the highlights of every Comic Con is seeing all the fan costumes on display. Here is a sampling of some of our favourites!

Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-nah Batman!

Shouldn't Éowyn be doing that?

Hobbit's and Trolls!

Our friends from The Shadow and Flame! Good to see you guys again!

Steamy! Punky!

Some dude from a place called Angmar? Tall, dark, silent type.

The Weta crew have just arrived back in New Zealand after a great week meeting so many friends and fans at San Diego Comic Con. For those of you who were unable to make it there, here's a summary of the highlights.

The Weta Booth

William, Tom and Bert

We flew up to San Diego from Middle-earth three days before the start of the show to set up our Weta booth. Little did we know, three stowaways had snuck onboard ! William, Tom and Bert wanted to join in the fun, and they had a ball, proving to be the most popular photography models at Comic Con 2012. i09.com listed them as top of their list of most sensational sights on the comic con floor

It didn't take long before everyone wanted to hang out with our Trolls ;)

Richard Taylor, Elijah Wood, Andy Serkis and Rob Gillies under foot.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey panel in Hall H

Peter Jackson, Philippa Boyens, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Ian McKellen and Elijah Wood presented the panel for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, in Comic Con's famous Hall H which holds 6,500 people. Fans had been queueing / sleeping outside overnight for a seat. They were rewarded with an exclusive screening of a new production blog, 12 minutes of footage from the films and a Q&A session with the team.

Here are some of the reactions and interviews after the presentation:

Launch of Barad-dur - Fortress of Sauron from The Lord of the Rings

We were delighted to display Barad-dur - Fortress of Sauron for the first time. This incredible model will be launched before the end of July here on the website. It will be a limited edition piece, so make sure you order early from our online shop to reserve your piece.

First glimpse of Weta's range of prop replicas and collectibles from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

We were thrilled to host so many folks at the Weta booth. It really is inspiring for the Weta crew to hear your thoughts and feedback first hand.

TRIUMPH was launched on the first day of Comic Con. Greg Broadmore happily signed and defaced his new book, following in the footsteps of the hilarious VICTORY and Doctor Grordbort's Contrapulatronic Dingus Directory
