Join our hosts for a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the workings of Weta Workshop with a guided tour within our newly opened exhibition space.
See some of the props and models we’ve created over the years.
Learn about some the processes we use to make cool stuff!
Guided tours start every 30 minutes from 10am to 5pm.
Tours take approx 45 minutes. Maximum 20 people per tour
If you have a group of more than ten please email the Weta Cave directly to organise a booking.
If you decide to purchase tickets on the day, we cannot guarantee availability, and there may be a wait for your tour.
For buses, we have a dedicated drop off and pick up point outside the Weta Cave on Camperdown Road. If this space happens to be full, buses can alternatively drop off visitors on Darlington Road. Visitors can then use the pedestrian crossing.
For private vehicles, parking is available in the surrounding streets, within 5 minutes walk.

Just a couple of weeks ago we visited Weta and had the great pleasure of watching and speaking with Craig Campbell as he sculpted this iconic piece.it will end up in his garden he said and was awaiting the molders to come in and set it up for that process. He started out with Plasticence which i was astounded by as i can remember as a kid in Scotland playing with that product. i was so inspired and wish i could visit Weta every week. How about offering workshops on-line wheer all your specialists can demonstrate how they do all that magic? Come on peter, you know it is the right thing to do Hide.
