What is Weta's connection with Doctor Who?

Richard Taylor, Dave Tremont and many others at Weta are huge fans of Doctor Who and have been for many years. It was therefore a natural step for us to apply for a license from the BBC to make collectible statues and helmets from the Doctor Who universe, both the original and the new series.
