Our friends at Warner Bros. have kicked off a design competition in anticipation of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
They are asking for submissions of artworks in four different categories: Characters, Creatures, Weapons and Locations.
The judges, John Howe, Alan Lee and Weta's own Richard Taylor will choose one lucky winner in each category who will win a swag of incredible merchandise from the sponsors, worth approx. US$2,000. Runners-up will also be richly rewarded.
Weta is sponsoring the Creatures category and the Grand Prize in this category is a treasure trove of collectibles from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Four runners-up will also win a limited edition Weta collectible.
So dust off that creative side and bowl on over to www.thehobbitdesigncontest.com to find out more and submit your creations! Please note the competition is open to people 18 years of age living in North America - for full terms check out the detailed rules of the competition.
