I received this prop replica the other day, and not only was I amazed at how fast the shipping was from NZ to Australia, but I am completely flabbergasted at the quality and detail in this piece.
Both my brothers and I love this prop replica and it is a must have for any Hobbit fan, the key plays such a big part of the story and movie (with out it they can not go home), so having it on display in our house is just awesome.
I would highly recommend any one get this replica for either themselves or as a gift. Hide.

There must be a door. I received the key in the mail today and I love it! It's heavy, like I expected it to be, and sits wonderfully in it's stand. A must have for any Hobbit fan. Hide.

Technically, it's 4.5. But since there are no half stars, I give it a 4. Great piece, especially for the price. It's heavy and exquisitely detailed/aged.
I would have given it 5 stars if not for 2 things:
1) the NLP logo is hard to miss and takes away from the piece, and
2) Not sure, but it seems the dwarven runes on one side is written backwards (i.e mirror image). It may be true to the prop in the film, but it seems puzzling to me why it would be designed that way...
Still love this piece, though. I have 2 of them! Hide.

This key is beautiful and has that realistic, nice weight in your hands which makes it the most convincing version of all the Erebor keys being sold by different merchandisers. So it's definitely worth buying Weta's official one.
It fits snug and perfect onto its stand and is definitely an attention-grabber. In addition, the finish is beautiful, with that aged look.
Only after I've held the key did I realize the genius of the design; there's a sense of ergonomics about the way it rests in your palm or as you hook your finger in it and discover it's balanced weight and length. I cannot emphasize enough how much this piece is worth the purchase. So get down to buying it! Hide.
