Master & Commander: The Far Side Of The World [2003]

Upon the release of The Fellowship of the Ring, Weta Workshop was approached by acclaimed director Peter Weir to build miniature tall ships and stunt fighting weapons for his historical naval production Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.

These huge, museum-quality miniatures were completed by late 2002 and were shot against a blue screen in Wellington by Weta Workshop for compositing and CG effects by Asylum FX and ILM.
