Time-Lordly high-fashion

This is much bigger than all the other Dr Who helmets, due to the massive shoulders and the high back piece, and the box is big too. The shoulders and back are one piece, that sits on the headless stand, while the skull cap is fixed to the polystone head, and it slots into the neck of the stand. All of the headdress and skull cap is made of metal, and it looks suitably metallic, as the skull cap, seals and piping all has gold and silver metallic colours. However, these are all painted on, but are done quite carefully. A really good paint job is done on the fabric and the two green points of the skull cap - a really impressive piece, and along with the cyberman, my favourite of these. Sculpted by Eden Small and Dave Tremont. Hide.

Time Lords don't do things by half and fortunately neither do Weta. If your more use to the generally head size helmets from LOTR, then due to the head-dress, the first thing you think is that's a lot larger then you were expecting and not surprisingly since its made from metal, rather heavy too.
Overall its a very nice and impressive piece, capturing the grandeur and flamboyance that is the Time Lords. The detail, especially on the main head cap is all there, especially for something that isn't polystone, only a bit seems to be 'missing' due to a little too thick application of paint, mostly around the pattern edges of the outside head-dress.
Even tho I'm not generally one for helms, I'm really happy I got this one as part of my Who collection and am now looking forward to the release of the Cyberman Leader helm. Hide.
