Monarch of the land of Rohan, King Théoden was a courageous leader and soldier. By way of the slithering machinations of his servant Grima Wormtongue, the fallen wizard Saruman was able to subvert and poison Th?oden's mind, for a time plunging Rohan into darkness and despair, but through the intervention of Gandalf, Théoden was exorcised of Saruman's influence. Restored to health and soundness of spirit, the King banished Wormtongue from his hall and again lead his people with wisdom and bravery.
Théoden is brilliantly captured in this 1:4 scale bust. He has been hand cast in heavy weight polystone and hand painted to the highest standards. He sits on a classically turned base that includes his full name and the sculptor's signature.

This is probably my favourite out of all the busts that I own. As with any Weta item, the quality is second to none, and the detail is remarkable. The intricate patterns on his tunic and even the little things like a gold stripe that breaks up the colour of his green cloak, just makes it that little bit more realistic and rich in detail. But for me the thing that sets him apart is the amazing likeness to the real thing. The way that Theoden's expresssion has been captured, the look in his eyes and the lines in his face. It really is like having a miniature Theoden on your mantlepiece. Photographs will never do this bust justice. Hide.
