Inside a T-Mat relay station on the Moon, a battle is underway between the Doctor and his human allies, and the invading Martian Ice Warriors. The cold-hearted Martians, with their green hides and hard, scaly cowls, are living reflections of their frozen, barren world. Using Earth's matter transmitter system for their own plans, they are sending deadly fungal seed pods to Earth as prelude to a full scale invasion. The only thing standing in their way is the Doctor.
The Ice Warrior Helmet is made from cast metal and comes with a polystone display stand. It was created by Weta model maker and Doctor Who fan, Daniel Cockersell.
Dimensions above include display stand.
It's the fourth in a series of six helmets from Doctor Who, available from the Weta website and at selected shows.
To keep up to date with Weta's Doctor Who range:

The first impression is how heavy the helmet is. After all it is cast in metal, and then painted up. It's a brilliant re-creation of the Martian creature, complete with red eye shields."

This looks good, nicely detailed scales, and I actually like the fact that they have left out the mouth, which was make up and not part of the helmet - you can see the mouth of the stand well through it. However, the green paint job is a tad bland with no real wash applied, and the helmet gains nothing apart from weight and strength in being made from metal. I would prefer it if the eyes and ears were made of darkly translucent orange plastic too, not painted metal, although it is a nice metallic orange colour.. Still a very nice piece though, sculpted by Daniel Cockershell. Hide.
