At Comic Con in July, Richard Taylor joined the Prince Caspian effects team and Director Andrew Adamson to discuss the miniatures, costumes, weapons and armour we are making here at Weta Workshop for the upcoming film. This month, images of our design work on this very cool project were revealed, and we've got the designers talking about them here!

This piece, by Weta Designer Nick Keller, was demonstrated to look at the horse armour itself, as apposed to the rider. "There were certain elements we incorporated in these designs", says Nick.

"The use of the face plate was an element that Andrew [Adamson] wanted to use in the horse's armour. This was my first time doing animal armour so I studied horse anatomy, and investigated the history of horse armour itself for this piece."

This beautiful environment concept was created by Weta designer Gus Hunter. "This piece was made after receiveing a brief about the Dancing Lawn environment for Prince Caspian", explains Gus. "This was designed as a safe gathering place, and I used these colours to show the mood and atmosphere to fit in with the design of the environment - that's why I added those trees and lanterns."

"I wanted to keep it rich and not so realistic, to give it that magical feel, to give a bit of contrast to the blue colours. It?s a gathering place in the story, a little magical place that they gather in secret, away from all the 'baddies' and I wanted this image to reflect that."

NarniaWeb recently interviewed Richard about Weta's work on the project, to check it out click here.
