
17 July 07 I tagged along with Gino Acevedo to his interview at National Radio this morning, and found out a whole lot about the trip from LA to little ole NZ...
In the 30 minute interview, host Katherine Ryan chatted to Gino about his work on King Kong, and delved into the production process, to learn more about the making of the special effects Gino is known for.

Gino spoke about meeting Richard Taylor and Tania Roger in the US, working on Aliens 3, working with Howard Berger, the lure of working in New Zealand, and just how he got into the business.
Gino also revealed details on two of his conservation projects, involving creating a robotic tuatara and a prosthetic for a Kiwi who was missing a leg.

Wellington Zoo contacted Gino after 'Tahi', the Kiwi had lost a leg to a possum trap. Tahi was brought into the Workshop and Gino took the cast off Tahi's leg and made him a prosthetic leg.
