This is one of the few books that has made me literally laugh out loud. The humor in this book is so outrageous and silly you can't help but laugh. Not to mention that the art work is outstanding. Hide.

Chock-full with creativity, this book has no bounds and shows no regret (if a book could).

Pages are of a heavy stock and show off the pictures with a quality pleasantly unexpected.

More than a directory of existing and future rayguns, a smorgasbord of "What Ifs" Hide.

This is one fantastic book.

The images are delectable and the text witty.

Mr Broadmore has done a marvelous job here. Not only are rayguns to be found within the pages of this book, but many other exciting and original gadgets that are sure to pique your interest.

The only complaint I have is the length - while still sizable, it does seem quite short.

But what is there is exceptional.

If you are a fan of sci-fi, steampunk, guns, or human, you should take a look at this book.

Recommended!

From Here To Futurity

Greg Broadmore did not invent the Raygun. But the creator of The Rayguns: Dr. Grordbort’s Infallible Aether Oscillators has put his money where his sub-atomic disintegrator pistol is, in rejuvenating the sci-fi staple his own way. And he wants you along for the ride.

When can be helped, Weta rarely chooses to relinquish a storyteller role and this is no exception. The Dingus Directory never breaks character, reading as part catalogue (for the fictional universe and Weta’s own collectibles), part travelogue, all served up with brisk fervor.

There is more tongue twisting text than you might expect to find in such (though the title’s a fair clue), but it is an art book at heart. If your brain begins to melt from the “astrodauk’s“, “brorgblort’s“, and “kedzurik’s“, the book is enjoyable in a Playboy way too- just look at the pretty pictures.

The book ends with a fully illustrated chronicle of Lord Cockswain’s safari, providing a colorfully welcome departure from the directory. A fitting way to demonstrate the practicality of Rayguns in every day Venus expedition, it’s a nice little avenue to let improbability escape your head for a while. Hide.

I work at Weta and I know I am biased, but I always tell people if you can only purchase one item from the Weta Cave, then choose Greg Broadmore's Dingus Directory. The art is beautiful, the contraptions are zany, but it's the totally politically UNcorrect sense of humour that does it for me. How many books do you know that you can't even pronounce the title ?

Scientifically proven to increase your manhood ! Can't wait for the next book Hide.

This book is Fantasmically incredmible with a big dose of Magniflicant! I love the whimsical amusement throughout. Dr G. must have got a big wiff of Martian moon dust before he put this one together!! Well done and a Bargain. Hide.
