I grew up in Nelson and moved to Wellington to go to design School. I chose Industrial design as my major. For my final year project I worked with the department of conservation to develop an individualized feeding and weighing system for the critically endangered Kakapo.
Charlotte hadn't considered working in the film industry until she went to the Lord of the Rings exhibition at Te Papa.
"I was blown away by the highly detailed design and amazing quality of the props, I really wanted to learn more. I was lucky enough to get two weeks work experience...and I am still here!"
"When I first started here there wasn't a computer down stairs, so it has been a fantastic experience helping to grow the department I now run."
"A highlight for me has been the purchase and integration of a 3D Scanner into our pipeline. Uli Beck-Schneider and I traveled to Canberra to scan a full sized aeroplane, which was a fun and satisfying job."

Charlotte,
I have a background in interior design/architecture. Ever since doing a couple of internships with theatre company's set design & art departments, it has been my dream to do that work for film and television. I truly love model making both physical and virtual, the design really seems to come to life at this stage. I don't know if you ever take on assistants, or have any role in hiring people for your team, but I would love the opportunity to work with you. I am a very hard worker, and have never been given a job to big or small that I have not given my very best effort towards. I will do any job in order to get my foot in the door. My CV and examples of my work can be seen at http://www.wix.com/kimdavenport/portfolio-page.
-Cheers, Kim Davenport Hide.
