A word of warning

In just the first six months of owning Anduril, I can already attest to the incomparable power of peril this sword has the potential to unleash within your own halls, even in the absence of any horde of marauding orcs and trolls. What happens is this -- the sword is so magnetic to the human hand, it is absolutely futile to tell your visitors 'Do Not Touch!' Undeterred, they are drawn to it, and upon contact they become possessed as if the very lineage of Elendil and Elessar has been awakened in their sinews. Gone is your formerly serene and well-mannered houseguest, transformed into an overzealous defender of all that is right and good in this world. This by itself would not be a problem, except somehow in the process your ceiling light fixtures and table lamps are apparently transformed in their mind into the forerunners of an imminent Mordor uprising, and they are invariably deftly dispatched before you are able to disarm your flailing friend. Consequently, I highly recommend obtaining the subsequent swords in Peter Lyon's Master Swordsmith Collection so that you may thereby have the means to parry the errant exuberance of your friends. But on the whole, it's definitely worth the trouble -- the sword is a joy to behold. (Invest in a good vacuum sweeper while you're at it.) Hide.

Simply Exquisite

The scabbard is fully lined carbon fiber and covered in leather. The hardware on it is handsomely hand forged, finished and fitted separately. The belt is made from two pieces of leather and precisely embossed, tooled, sewn and punched. The fit and finish of all of the hardware especially the tight tolerances of the buckles and swivels would make a watchmaker proud.

The word beautiful doesn’t begin to do the sword justice. The handle is leather wrapped, the blade is straight, true and the finish almost glows. The Elvish runes aren’t etched but stamped into the blade and pommel. The balance point is right at the hilt and when held with hands on either side of the hilt, the sword feels almost neutral. It is quite easy to maneuver making it a formidable weapon. It is a phenomenal example of the Swordsmith’s craft.

One Sword to Rule Them All

Stunning! As much faith as I had in Mr. Lyon, I still did not expect to be this blown away. I own several high-end swords, including the Atlantean and Father's swords from Albion Armorers. I have never seen a blade like this. It came in a wooden "coffin", wrapped in a sleeve of linen, which was a nice touch. Taking the linen off to reveal the blade for the first time was quite an experience. In fact, when I first put my hand on the linen and felt the blade beneath, I could tell immediately that this blade was unlike anything I had experienced before. The depth of the grinds was just amazing, and you could feel it. Once you remove that linen, light dances off the contoured blade, and you really do have to see it in person to appreciate the quality and skill that went into this sword. I've never seen a blade ground so deeply. Not to mention the depth of the engraving down the fuller. Combine all that with the perfect satin-finish, and you get exactly what you see in the film when Aragorn first pulls Anduril from the scabbard. WOW! You've got to go back and watch that sceen in ROTK again. I also purchased the optional hero scabbard and belt. They are so raw and authentic. Truly the perfect compliment to the perfect sword. Weta workshop... you guys are the best! Hide.

Just received "Anduril" and must say the blade is ground to absolute perfection by Peter. Not only is this a beautiful weapon but an absolute piece of art. For a two-hander this sword has great balance unlike most fantasy weapons which are too heavy to be considered usable. Thank you Peter and Weta. This is the crown of my collection! Hide.
