The 2nd in our collectible series of Hobbit Holes!

Scattered among the grassy hills of Hobbiton like a purse full of lost coins, the bright round doors of many dozen Hobbit-holes shine in bright, summery hues, each home to a Hobbit or family of the little people.

As diverse as the rosy-cheeked Hobbits themselves, every smial, as Hobbit-holes are known, reflects the unique personality of its inhabitant and nestles into the hillside amid a sea of lush greenery.

Crowned by the resplendent Bag End, Bagshot Row is dotted with a handful of more modest dwellings, bearing wreaths of flowers and painted door faces.

Neighbouring Bilbo Baggins on the left is the warm red door of number 40 Bagshot Row, a humble Hobbit-hole when compared to Bag End, modestly dressed with small white flowers and a stone slab porch. Well kept in true Hobbit fashion, it overlooks the Party Field and the Party Tree and is the second home in a series of collectible Hobbit Hole environments from the artists at Weta.

Each an individual dwelling, the Hobbit holes lend themselves splendidly to creative placement in your cabinet. With a flat back and shallow depth of only 55mm, they can be placed on mantles, cornices, shelves and in windows.

This gorgeous little environment is an exacting miniature replica of the movie set that can be visited at Hobbiton in Matamata, New Zealand. It was created by the same artists and craftspeople who worked on the movie.

40 Bagshot Row was sculpted by David Tremont and Leonard Ellis.

These Hobbit dwellings are currently available to order from Weta:

We will be creating more of these miniature environments from Hobbiton in this series in the months to come.

Where in Hobbiton is 40 Bagshot Row?

See below the visitors' map from Hobbiton Movie Set Tours in Matamata, New Zealand, created by Daniel Reeve.

The arrow points at 40 Bagshot Row, next door neighbour of Bilbo Baggins at Bag End at the top of the hill.

If you haven't already been to the Hobbiton Movie Set in the beautiful Matamata region, we warmly recommend a visit.

These Hobbit holes (Smials) are a wonderful collectible for the price. These are currently my favourite pieces. The Sculpt is amazing, but that is to be expected with David Tremont and Leonard Ellis. The paint work is clean and looks great. It holds up very well to close inspection. As a side note - this is the only Hobbit Hole that you can actually go in to on the Hobbiton tour. Highly recommend this collectible. Hide.

After months of indecision on adding this piece to my collection, I bit the bullet. The box arrived on my doorstep(really small box) and upon opening - WOW - pictures on WETA's shop site do not do this jewel justice. The wood grain, the entry way paving stones, the fire wood to the left of the door, the flowers to the right, even the texture of the plants and grass are fantastic! Thank you David Tremont and Leonard Ellis. What a wonderful piece. Hide.
